Filipino MMA Fighter shows mercy on his opponent

A Filipino MMA fighter shows mercy to his opponent in their fight in Prison City Fight League in Michigan. The Filipino fighter was named Mike Pantangco a late-replacement for Jeremy Rasner.

Pantangco taps out after he feels that theres no need to continue the fight anymore. With this, he has both negative and positive feed back on what happened.

“We don’t get paid and I know that the only (way) I’m going to finish the fight is him to go in the hospital or get hurt,” Pantangco said. “I just feel terrible so I’m just going to give him the win.”

“I am sorry for all you guys think I did him wrong or disrespected him,” Pantangco said as quoted by Conner O’Brien of The Courier-Mail. “But guys (we’re amateur) fighters. We don’t get paid and if I would keep going I would’ve hurt him more and maybe he gets serious injuries and maybe that will make him stop doing what he loves to do.”

In the end, I'm still proud for what he have done. Mercy is more important than fame. Why fight if you see your opponent unable to fight anymore.

I think its the referees fault. He should have stop it for the very first time he saw the opponent unable to fight.
