Manila Road Closure for Rizal's Bday

MANILA – Parts of Roxas Boulevard were closed to traffic beginning Wednesday morning as part of the ceremony held at the Rizal Park to commemorate the 152nd birth anniversary of the country’s national hero.

According to the Manila Police District Traffic Enforcement Unit, the north and southbound lanes of Roxas Boulevard from T.M. Kalaw to Katigbak was closed at 7 a.m.

Authorities said all vehicles coming from the southern part of Manila intending to utilize the northbound lane of Roxas Blvd. shall turn right at TM Kalaw and then turn left at Ma. Orosa.

On the other hand, for those coming from the northern part of Mania intending to utilize the southbound lane of Roxas Blvd. shall turn left at P. Burgos and then turn right at Ma. Orosa.

Outgoing Manila Mayor Lim led the wreath laying ceremony before Rizal’s monument in Manila.
Also at the event were other groups including the Knights of Rizal, Philippine Navy, and officials of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines.
