Class Suspensions: June 19, 2013

Walang pasok: Some schools suspend classes June 19 amid possible heavy rain
Some schools in Metro Manila suspended classes for Wednesday amid the possibility of heavy rain and floods.

At 5:36 a.m., the University of the East posted on its Twitter account that classes from kinder to high school in its campuses in Manila and Caloocan City.

"Kinder, elementary and high school classes in UE Manila and UE Caloocan for today, June 19. 2013, have been suspended by UE President (Ester) Garcia," it tweeted.

A tweet by GMA News said the Little Merry Hearts Montessori Center also suspended classes from preschool to high school.

Classes continue in other schools

But other schools in flood-prone areas in Metro Manila indicated classes will proceed for Wednesday.

The Polytechnic University of the Philippines said there was no announcement on the cancellation of classes as of 5:25 a.m.

"As of 5:25 a.m. today, Wednesday, June 19, NO ANNOUNCEMENT yet on cancellation of classes," PUP said on its Facebook account.

The University of Santo Tomas also said there was no announcement as of 5:21 a.m. that classes would be suspended.

Meanwhile, in Valenzuela City, the city government said there is no class suspension for the day.

"Advisory: NO Class suspension citywide as per DepEd Valenzuela City OIC . NO floods on major highways and roads to schools," it said.
