Weather Update: Tropical Storm "Karen"

Tropical Cyclone Alert: Tropical Storm "KAREN"
Issued at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, 12 September 2012

Tropical Storm "KAREN" over the East Philippine Sea has intensified as it moves Northwestward. .

As of this hour, No Public Storm Warning Signals Raised.

Estimated rainfall amount is from 10 - 20 mm per hour (moderate - heavy) within the 550 km diameter of the Tropical Storm.

Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the eastern seaboard of Visayas and Mindanao due to Tropical Storm "Karen".

Meanwhile, the low pressure area (LPA) was estimated at 250 km West of Zambales (15.4°N, 117.3°E).

The public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 11 p.m. today.
