Chieffy will not play at AFC Challenge Cup

One month before the Philippine National Football  team Azkals join the AFC Challenge Cup Elite 8, Chieffy Caligdong is comes out with an injury that might prevent him from playing.

The Azklas striker was injured before the half time in a 2-2 draw game of Philippine Air Force Phoenix and the Philippine Army in division 1 tournament of United Football League.

A tackle from Wilson Dela Cruz of army burst the injury in left leg of Chieffy Caligdong.He suffers a partial ligament tear in his knees after MRI results.

"His participation is still hanging in the air." team manager Dan Palami said.

The Nationals is in "group of death" were the Azkals are against the former champions Tajikistan, India and a world experience team like North Korea.

Aside from Caligdong, team captain Aly Borromeo and other European-based players can't play due to club commitments or injuries.
