Start Of Rainy Days: Leptospirosis Days

Flood will never have a good benefit for people. Rainy days are coming fast and whenever there is rain, there will always be a flood. Leptospirosis is one of many disease we could have in a flood. The Leptospirosis came from the virus leptospira.

The Department of Health (DOH) alarms all people to be careful of flood and advise to wear a boots wherever there is flood. Metro Manila is one of high risks places when it comes to Leptospirosis but the DOH said that people should be careful because there is still a possible Leptospirosis Virus wherever rats are around.

US to China: Stop Showcasing Forces At Spratlys Island

The US calls the attention of China to stop the showcase of its forces at Philippine West Sea in a dialogue. "We want tensions to subside. 

We have a strong interest in the maintenance in peace and stability, and we are seeking a dialogue among all of the key players," Campbell said in a conference meeting in Honolulu Hawaii in which China was also there.

60kph Speed Limit At Macapagal Avenue

After the Commonwealth Avenue, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will strictly enforce a 60kph limit speed in Pasay City after the public urges the local government due to increasing accident happening on the said main road.

Not as big as the Commonwealth Avenue which is named "killer highway" the Macapagal Boulevard is more narrow wit honly 4 lanes and some establishments are there.

Reyes-Bustamante On 2011 World 9-Ball Championship

The reigning WPA World 9-Ball champion Francisco "Django" Bustamante and the former world 9-ball and 8-ball champion both win their first game at the 2011 World 9-Ball Championships at Al Sadd Sports Club at Doha Qatar on saturday night.

Bustamante scored a 9-7 against Caneda Villamor in group D while Reyes took its chances against Mark Gray of Great Britain at 9-8 in Group A.

Among the finalists are the singers like the Madrigal Singers, Jem Cubil, John Michael Narag, Buildex Pagales, DJP Trio and Marcelito Pomoy.

Diabetes: About To Rise Up To 7.8M in 2030 In Philippines

The World Health Organization (WHO) was alarmed in the possible break out for about 7.8 million Filipinos in the Philippines to have diabetes by the year 2030. 

Statistics show that by today there are 35. Filipinos who suffers diabetes starting 2008. Due to this alarming situation, the PhilCare company will now support the aim of Agustin Tanco Foundation to build a program that will wake up the Filipinos. 

The theme will be "One Million Warriors against Diabetes". The program aims to encourage the people to fight this deathly disease and to have a wide knowledge about diabetes.

Typhoon "Falcon" (Meari) Update As of 9:00PM

The La Mesa Dam has reached its spilling level that's why areas that are near the Tulyahan river are advised to evacuate immediately. Areas from Bulacan and CaMaNaVa are mostly that will be affected.

The areas having public storm signal no. 1 are Calayan, Babuyan Group of Islands and Batanes Group of Islands having the winds of 45-60kph.

At 4:00 p.m. today, Tropical Storm "FALCON" was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 320 km East Northeast of Basco, Batanes (22.2°N, 124.9°E) with maximum sustained winds of 85 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 100 kph. It is forecast to move North Northwest at 22 kph.

Residents in low lying and mountainous areas under signal # 1 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides.

Three more dams are being watched as it maybe hit its critical level this evening if the rain continue.

26th SEAG To Be Coached By Torre

Secretary General Abraham "Bambol" Tolentino of the National Chess Federation of the Philippines announced that possible Grand Master Eugene Torre will coach the Philippine Chess team for the 26th South East Asian Games this coming November 11-25 at Palambang Jakarta Indonesia.

"GM Torre is well-respected as a chess master not only in the country but also in Asia and in the world, he will be a perfect choice to coach our delegates to the SEA Games" he also added. "No one deserves it more than him".

Visitors of the OVP website as of 4 a.m. Monday were greeted with a popup message, "Hacked by Blackrain," before the OVP page could load.

A second popup message would appear, seemingly greeting a certain Miho. "Hello to Miho! hoi! hoi!" it said. And clicking the second pop up will direct the visitor to the defaced OVP website - the image of the Philker hacker group.

Manila - Top Ten Tax Payers To Be Awarded

Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim awarded the Top Ten business tax payers and real realty tax payers at the Gat Antonio J. Villegas Hall at its ceremony.

Plaques of Recognition and Plaques of Appreciation were awarded to those top business tax payers which are: MERALCO, International Container Terminal Services, Uniliver Philippines, Asian Terminals Inc., Philippine Ports Authority, Philippine American Insurance Company, Marikina Square Properties Inc., Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company, SM Prime Holdings Inc., and Maynilad Water Services Inc.

The top realty taxpayers were also given a plaque of awards and recognition including Asian Terminals Inc., SM Prime Holdings Inc., Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, International Container Terminal Services Inc., San Miguel Corporation, Maranaw Hotels and Resort Corp., Marina Square Properties Inc., Phil Diamond Hotel and Resort Inc. and Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company.

As Mayor Lim said, credits must be given to those tax payers and realty tax payers who are contributing well for the economies growth.

Araw Ng Kalayaan Araw Ng Kalikasan

In cooperation of the City Government of Makati and the different cycling group at Makati comes a twenty kilometer mass ride around the prime city for the "Araw ng Kalayaan".

Started with a mass around 6:00am at Ayala Ave. corner Paseo De Roxas, the constituents, employees and cyclists joined in a freedom activity. Then at the countdown of ten the cyclists ride around Makati to promote a non motor transportation.

The Makati supports the non motor transportation in which the city has the E-Jeep roving around the central business district for free.

Present at the ride are the group of cyclists named "Firefly Brigade".

"Araw ng Kalayaan, Araw ng Kalikasan" is the team for today's celebration of Independence here in the Philippines and to promote saved the mother Earth.

Even though The Mayor (Binay) and Vice President (Binay) are unable to participate in the said event, Councilors and the City Administrator Marjorie De Veyra headed this successful event.
