Typhoon Sendong Sends A Lesson To Learn

The Typhoon Sendong leaves a massive destruction to the Northern part of Mindanao particularly in the city of Cagayan De Oro, Iligan and Dumaguete City.

Starting from four (4) dead bodies in the morning, the count rises up to a thousand. People all over the country tries to help in anything and through anything they could give.

The Government issues a command in which he orders to form a group of fact finding team to determine the cause of this tragedy.

National Risk Reduction Management Council director Benito Ramos said that it is possible to happen again in Cagayan De Oro and Iligan if the illegal logging doesn't stop once and for all. To stop this nature tragedy, "political will" of the local official must be strictly implemented.

Illegal loggers must be stopped at once. Some people who experienced the flood said that aside from the rising flood that shocked them, the logs are also coming their way. These makes the people loose their lives and the hope to survive.

Next year is 2012, and the following year is election time again. Governors, Congressmen's, Mayors down to the lowest official are expected to promise again for a good governance.
Printing their best "rick perry for president bumper stickers" to impress the voter, and when the voting comes they will to become winners.

People who only make money for their own benefit. People who promise to make these things happen but after they were elected, you can't see them anymore.

This things that happened during the typhoon "Sendong" is a lesson that people should realize. First is to conserved the nature. Think of the next generation before yourself. You may not be the one who will suffer today, but your next generation will be the victims.

Second is that people should be wiser who to vote to govern them. Not only for the popularization but look deep inside the heart that political man who were promising a good future.

Be wiser. Think wiser. Think the future. The future of our next generation.

Nice post. Thanks for sharing. I hope that preventative measures can be put in place soon. One thing that can be done which costs nothing is each individual take responsibility for their garbage and put it where it belongs instead of throwing it all over the streets, rivers, and everywhere else.
