Azkals VS Al-Azraq On Thursday

The Philippine Azkals and the Al-Azraq of Kuwait came to the Philippines last Sunday evening at Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

The second leg of the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers will be held at Rizal Memoria Football Stadium in Vito Cruz Manila on Thursday (July 28, 2011) at 7:00pm.

The Al-Azraq beats the Azkals with a commanding lead of 3-0 for the first leg last Saturday night at Kuwait.

"The game is not over, it's only the halftime, I think we've taken big strides and big steps in football for the Philippines, and we need to give ourselves a pat in the back." Fil-Britain goal keeper Neil Etherridge.

"Siyempre dissapointed kami pero we have one more game so sana manalo tayo sa next game. Bilog ang bola... so who knows," striker Phil Younghusband said in an interview.

On Thursday, we are hoping to see the captain Aly Borromeo and midfielder Stephan Schrock played after the suspensions resulted by yellow cards in the game against the Brave Reds of Sri Lanka.

"I think that will give us a big boost, That (the suspensions) was one of the major reasons why we did not get a better result." German coach Michael Weiss said.

The tickets for the Azkals-Al-Azraq game on Thursday are all sold out after it was announced openly to the public.

We still believe that the Azkals can do it. And even if they don't, we hope that they never loose hope and confidence to their self and to the team Azkals.
