2012 Budget Ready For Deliberation

The Malacanan Palace formally submitted to the Congress the proposed 2012 budget. Budget Secretary Butch Abad personally submitted the budget for next year which has a total of P1.818 trillion.

The budget increases about 10.4% or a P171 billion. 

The top 5 government agencies that will benefit this are the Education with P238.8 billion, DPWH with P125.5 billion, Defense with P107.9 billion, Agriculture and DSWD.

The budget for the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) program this year increases to P39.5 billion which will benefit 3 million poor people.

Abad confirms that pork barrel of the congress will be the same as P70 million per year and P200 million for the senators so they asked them not to delay deliberation of the budget.

The deliberation will start on Monday August 1. 2011 and expected to end on December 15, 2011 before the recess of the KAMARA for their Christmas break.
